Rooted is a single-player/online cooperative game centered around a fictional post-apocalyptic world. Players will have to restock their food supplies, explore forbidding environments, farm for resources, and build shelters.

In terms of how users will need to proactively interact with the environment if they hope to emerge victorious, Rooted offers a similar feel to other survival role-playing games, such as The Forest. Likewise, a multiplayer mode can provide a greater sense of adventure and teamwork.

A dark future

Rooted takes place in the year 2100 after a global catastrophe due to bacteriological warfare. Few survivors remain, and those who do must struggle in order to overcome countless obstacles. While exploration is a key portion of this game, a considerable emphasis is placed on salvaging and crafting new resources.

The developers of this game have used to Unreal 5 Engine to create truly realistic scenery and mechanically accurate player movements. This helps add a level of suspense that would not be possible with standard 2D RPG platforms.

Avoiding "big brother"

Another unique element within the storyline of Rooted involves the role that the government now plays. In order to remain alive, characters must also avoid being spotted by autonomous drones as they navigate through different levels and challenges. Therefore, evasion is essential, and this is even more relevant in terms of cooperative gameplay.

Those who have enjoyed other survival-based RPGs, such as Grounded, should be impressed with Rooted's layout and mechanics. Thanks to Unreal Engine 5 technology, as well as an ever-evolving narrative, players will certainly have to remain on their toes at all times.
